Monet's Gardens
Monet's Gardens.
We left Bayeux and the D-Day Beaches behind us and headed back to Paris. Along the way, we stopped at Monet's Beautiful Gardens at Giverny. There are two parts in Monet's garden: a flower garden called Clos Normand in front of the house and a Japanese inspired water garden on the other side of the road. The two parts of Monet's garden contrast and complement one another. Claude Monet did not like organized nor constrained gardens. He married flowers according to their colors and left them to grow rather freely. In the water garden is the famous Japanese bridge covered with wisterias, and the famous nympheas which bloom all summer long. |

Exploring Giverny.
After touring Monet's Gardens, we had time to explore Giverny and have some lunch. The streets and buildings were impressively decorated with flowers. I guess you would expect this in Monet's home town. |
Back in Paris
Farewell Dinner.
We arrived in Paris later in the day for our farewell dinner at the Le Petit Retro to say goodbye to our new friends. After dinner we took a stroll for one last look at the Eiffel Tower. It was a good way to delay saying goodbye to our new family of friends. |

Our Tour Family Group picture.
We had a great time on the tour and it was enhanced so much by our great tour family! We're hoping we will meet again on another tour in the future.
